The First Reading of: The Worm at the Core

For those that responded to this idea, thank you. I had enough interest in a reading of this book to make it worthwhile. I have no doubt you’ll enjoy this read. As a creative person, you’ll gain fodder and ideas. On top of that, it’s something I believe every human being should have a basic understanding of—the theories and evidence to support them are life-changing.

Join me next Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1000 MST for the first reading of "The Worm at the Core: On the Role of Death in Life." I'll be reading the introduction and the first chapter. Then we'll have a discussion about it. This is one of the books that I've based my new work on. I think you'll get a lot out of it, both as an artist and especially as a human being.

You can download the PDF of the book here.

True Detective Rust Cohle: Pessimistic Philosophy

You may not be into these kinds of series; they might be too gruesome or too real for a lot of people. This is such a well-written dialogue. I can’t believe the writer is pulling this character (Rust Cohle) straight from Peter Wessel Zapffe’s “The Last Messiah.” I’ve written a few times about Zapffe. The giant Irish elk story and the evolutionary mistake with its antlers are analogous to our consciousness and intelligence. The deeper I dive, the more I find Zapffe.

I know most people find this heavy and dark. I understand that. At the same time, I see it as the ultimate truth. This is our condition, whether we want to admit it or not. Most don’t.
