Quinn Jacobson

Quinn is a full-time artist. He works in mixed media: photography and painting.

On July 3, 2020, he retired from his full-time position as a photographer for the United States Federal Government, the Department of Defense (DoD).

He is a veteran of the United States Army. Between his military service (11C/84B) and his civil service (GS-1060/1084), he served his country for over 20 years. He had a successful and honorable career.

He’s traveled all over the world, including Asia and 16 countries in eastern and western Europe. He lived in Germany for five years and taught historic photographic processes all over Europe and in China.

His passion is telling stories and sharing ideas about what it means to be human. He now lives in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with his wife, Jeanne, and their cat, Moshe. Their daughter, Summer, lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her husband, Kendric.

Quinn’s current project is called “In the Shadow of Sun Mountain: The Psychology of Othering and the Origins of Evil.” This work is based on Ernest Becker’s writings and theories about the denial of death, death anxiety, and terror management theory. This book should be released sometime in 2024-2025. You can follow his work on his blog.

The 19th-century theologian and philosopher, Harold Thurman Whitman said,
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs – ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
